About

Passionate about tackling complex problems and finding beautiful solutions. So far that has meant hardware for the Moon, robot dogs, satellites, race cars, and paint plants.

Education

  • BESc, Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Western University, 2016 to 2021. Honor Roll.
  • 12-month professional internship at GM's CAMI assembly plant, built into the degree.
  • Five years of Baja SAE on the side: composites, then suspension lead, then Team Captain of 30+ students.

Experience

  • Quanser, now: Solutions Engineer, putting robotics and control-systems labs into university engineering programs.
  • MDA Space, 2023 to 2026: flight hardware for Canadarm3 on NASA's Lunar Gateway. Led a team of 3 to 5 engineers and a $1M+ development budget; three mechanisms through full qualification under CSA and NASA review.
  • Robotic Assistance Devices, 2021 to 2023: originated and led RADDOG with a team of 5+ engineers, concept to production in 18 months. Three products shipped as lead mechanical engineer.
  • GM CAMI, 2019 to 2020: paint mix room process engineer. The 2021 Equinox colours launched on my systems.

Skills

  • AI-native engineering: custom Claude agents wired into my tools run research, documents, data, and outreach under my direction, with automatic checks before anything ships. This site went from idea to live domain in one day.
  • New product development: blank page to production line. Requirements, prototypes, DFM, supplier tooling, launch; products hardened for runs of 2,000+ units a year.
  • Hands-on prototyping and fabrication: CNC mill and lathe, TIG and MIG welding, 3D printing, laser cutting. When the fastest path is making the part myself, I make the part.
  • Mechanical analysis: structural, thermal, and vibration FEA in ANSYS and SolidWorks Simulation, verified against hand calculations; tolerance stack-ups, worst-case and statistical.
  • CAD to production: SolidWorks and NX daily, GD&T drawing sign-off, design for machining, molding, and sheet metal.
  • Test and qualification: Instron, shaker table, thermal vacuum, DAQ campaigns; test plans through contractual reports delivered to CSA.

Certifications

  • P.Eng, Professional Engineers Ontario, licence #100634510, 2025.
  • PMP, Project Management Institute, #4223735, 2025, valid to 2028.
  • CSWA ×3, Dassault Systèmes: Mechanical Design, Advanced Surfacing, Additive Manufacturing.
