Who

Project lead and mechanical engineering lead at Robotic Assistance Devices. I originated the program, directed a team of 5+ engineers, held sign-off on every drawing and BOM, and ran the technical side of the customer demonstrations that set the product direction.

What

A quadruped security robot taken from concept to production in 18 months. RADDOG 2LE became the first robotic dog deployed to a US police department, demonstrated for the FBI, and appeared on FOX's "Stars on Mars," Fox 2 Detroit, and Good Day Philadelphia.

How

Three design sprints. MVP prototypes won the funding. A negotiated redesign delivered strength, manufacturability, and a simpler architecture. Customer pilots set the law-enforcement configuration, and the final sprint locked the production design. Ruggedization, field charging, and mass and thermal limits were all engineered against a fixed market cost target, then the program was handed to the production team in Michigan.
